As an innovative physician healthcare executive, and visionary leader, Jon Belsher has an over twenty-year history of success in private and public sectors, and for-profit and nonprofit organizations. His most recent business venture was MedSpring Urgent Care, which Jon served as the Chief Medical Officer for more than six years. Founded in 2011 with growth to over 35 centers across five large metropolitan markets, the opportunity offered Jon an amazing journey from conception to operation that now serves hundreds of thousands of people nationally. What was foremost in Jon’s mind was to build a company that increased healthcare access, drove down costs, and served every patient in a manner consistent with what we would want for our families.
From an early age, Jon Belsher displayed an ability to be a natural leader. Born in Palo Alto, California, Jon was the eldest of four boys. When his father, a physician, passed away at the age of 50, Jon bridged the gap between his deceased father and his three brothers by assuming the head of the family. In addition, early in his career and during the President George W. Bush administration, Jon served as a liaison between the White House and the President and Vice President. Jon briefed and accompanied the President and Vice President and other dignitaries on national and international trips as Advance Representative for the White House.
